Black and white view of the Cité of Carcassonne from the west, showing the medieval ramparts and towers overlooking the city. The reverse features a handwritten address to Madame J. Bauthe at Le Cholm, Switzerland, with a Carcassonne postmark dated 28 August 1902 and a circular cancellation.
