12th-century stone baptistry in the Cathedral of Chartres, crowned with ornate columns and framed by mosaics. Printed text at the bottom: '113. Cathedral of Chartres — Baptistry 12th Century.' Reverse: handwritten correspondence to Mme S. Mériel in Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer, Calvados, with a 5-centime French postage stamp and a shipping postmark from Garencières-sur-Aube (Aube) dated April 24, 1914.
