Description

Black and white view of the sculpted tympan of the portal of Chartres Cathedral, richly decorated with religious figures and biblical scenes. The reverse bears a handwritten letter dated March 14, 1908, addressed to Madame, mentioning the beauty of the portal and the sender's joy of being able to be there. The publisher is indicated as L. Portail, Nord, and the postage stamp is postmarked in Chartres.
