Description

Black and white panoramic view of the village of Cauterets, with a winding road snaking through a mountainous valley with steep sides and snow-capped peaks. The reverse has handwritten correspondence dated August 15, 1937, signed 'Effren', addressed to 'Mme Muffet' in Donzy, mentioning the route taken to Cauterets and back. Two 20-centime stamps of the French Republic are affixed, canceled with a circular postmark from Lourdes.
