View of the Fontaine des Éléphants in Chambéry, erected in 1838 in memory of General Comte de Boigne (1754–1838), a benefactor of the city. The monument, adorned with elephant statues and a bust on a column, is photographed in front of a building with ornate architecture. The reverse shows the typical correspondence/address area of a postcard from that era, with a publisher's mark 'E. REYNAUD CHAMBERY' at the bottom of the front.
