Sepia-toned view of the Mer de Glace glacier stretching between the snow-capped peaks of the Grand Jorasses. Printed text at the bottom indicates the publisher G R 849 and the location. Reverse: 25-centime French postage stamp, postmark from Chamonix, handwritten address to Madame Rigollot in Montreuz (Seine), and mention of the publisher L. Fauraz in Annemasse (Haute-Savoie).
