Description

View of La Porte Guillaume in Chartres, a fortified gate from the 7th century built by Guillaume de Ferrières, on the old keep. The text indicates it housed a chapel dedicated to Saint Fiacre and Saint Pantaleon in the 16th century, which was burned down in 1856. In the foreground, a tobacco shop and two pedestrians on a paved street. Reverse: blank postcard with the correspondence and address areas, publisher Ch. Fonceault, Dreux.
