View of the William Gate in Chartres, a medieval stone tower with an arched bridge crossing a canal, reflected in the water. The reverse features a handwritten letter addressed to Marius R. Schlincker in Fribourg, with a red 10-centime stamp and a postmark from St. Sipper (Switzerland) dated August 8, 1908.
