View of the Rue du Bourg in Chartres with the Gothic cathedral in the background, pedestrians and a cyclist on the paved path. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated December 9, 1931, sent from Cairo to Julien, mentioning the cold climate and snow in Chartres, as well as the sender's signature. The reverse also bears the inscription 'IMP. LEVY ET CIE'.
