View of the Hôtel-Dieu in Chartres, a large classical-style hospital building with arcades and tiled roofs. The reverse features a handwritten letter dated March 26, 1916, addressed to 'dear sisters,' mentioning a visit to the doctor and a planned operation for a patient. The postmark and cancellation are illegible.
