Black and white view of the Grand Canal of the Sceaux Castle, bordered by trimmed hedges and lawns, under a cloudy sky. The reverse side features a handwritten letter dated April 29, 1940, sent from Paris to a recipient in La Batigualité, with a violet 40-centime stamp and a Paris postmark.
