Description

View of the ruined castle of Chinon with the town below, accompanied by historical text mentioning significant events: the death of Henry II of England in 1180, the installation of Richard the Lionheart in 1199, the capture of the city by Philip Augustus in 1205, the arrival of Joan of Arc in 1429, and the occupation of the castle by Cardinal Richelieu in 1629.
