Black and white panoramic view of the medieval fortifications of Carcassonne, particularly the west side with its conical towers and the lower town below. The reverse bears a handwritten letter in cursive script, addressed to a recipient in Carcassonne, with a mention of the date 20 May 1911 and a postal cancellation from Carcassonne.
