Black and white view of the ascent to the Porte de l'Aude in Carcassonne, with medieval ramparts and towers in the background. Printed text at the bottom: 'CITÉ DE CARCASSONNE — Montée de la Porte de l'Aude'. On the reverse, handwritten address to Monsieur François Haubert in Châlons/Marne, a 5-cent postage stamp and a postmark from Toulouse-Saint-Martin dated 6 April 1894.
