Engraved portrait of Claude Santerre, with biographical text at the bottom describing his birth in Paris in 1752, his role in the National Guard, his appointment as general in Vendée, his arrest and death in 1809. Reverse: postcard with 'Correspondence' and 'Address' zones, printed 'Lévy et Meuchelier, 64, rue de l'École-de-Médecine, Paris' and instruction 'Write only on the side reserved for correspondence'.
