Description

Black and white illustration of a tumultuous marine landscape near Dover, with steep cliffs, agitated waves, and seagulls in flight under a cloudy sky. The printed text at the bottom indicates 'CLIFFS NEAR DOVER' and the artist's signature 'G.C. Heutton'. On the reverse, a handwritten letter addressed to Mrs. Leconte in London, dated April 26, 1915, mentions a fall on the stairs and a promise to bring her flowers. The green Dover postmark is canceled.
