Description

Postcard showing the Porte St-Mayeul, a fortified gate from the 12th century in Cluny, with two people in front of the opening. The printed text explains that the Cluny enclosure had eight gates, of which this one was sealed by the residents in 1797 and later reopened. On the reverse, stamps from 1907, postmark from Saint-Prix (Civry), and address to Paris, with handwritten text dated April 1, 1907.
