Cognac — François Ier at the Battle of Marignan — Masterpiece of Sculptor Etax

Description

Equestrian statue of François Ier at the Battle of Marignan, work of sculptor Etax, erected in Cognac. The monument is located on a base decorated with sculptures and surrounded by a fence. Printed text at the bottom indicates that François Ier (1494–1547) was born and raised in the castle there, and that the cellars and shops of Messrs. Otard Dupuy & C° have been established there since 1795.
