Interior view of the Grand Reception Hall of the Ladies-in-Waiting at the Château de Compiègne, adorned with a monumental chandelier, armchairs, and a richly embroidered sofa, with sculpted wall decorations and mirrors. Reverse: 50-centime postmark canceled in Compiègne on June 11, 1899, addressed to Madame Bittighoffer in Vendômy (Loir-et-Cher), with handwritten sender's script.
