Description

View of the Empress's cradle in the park of Compiègne, a vegetal tunnel formed by ivy on a metal structure. The reverse bears a handwritten letter dated 14 March 1917, addressed to a 'dear aunt,' mentioning the receipt of a birthday card and news of the war. A 1-franc stamp is affixed, with a Compiègne cancellation.
