Engraved portrait of Count of Custine, a French general born in Strasbourg in 1740, who distinguished himself in the Seven Years' War and became a field marshal in 1783. He sat on the Estates-General in 1789, conquered Speyer, Worms, and Mainz, but was accused in 1792 for abandoning these cities and executed on August 28, 1793.
