Description

Black-and-white engraved illustration of a Gothic honor court with gable roofs and columned gallery, with a fountain surrounded by bushes in the center. Printed text at the bottom: 'Cour d'honneur of the Hôtel-Dieu de Beaune (end of the 15th century)'. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated 'Sundi soir à Beaune' addressed to 'Mr Chérie', mentioning the 'marmotte' and the 'Caulerge' in Beaune. Artist signature 'M. CHAILLET' at the bottom right.
