Black and white view of the entrance to the Desert of Grande-Chartreuse, with a stream winding between rocky cliffs and a road along the edge. The reverse has a handwritten address to Mme Jeanne Beauld in Dijon, a circular cancellation of 18/12, and a stamp from Grande Chartreuse (Isère).
