Description

Postcard showing the House of d'Eichtal in Dixmont, a curious building constructed in 1849 by M. Ad. d'Eichtal to exploit a lignite mine. The text describes its architectural peculiarity: a ground floor supported by a gallery formed of cut oak trees. Reverse: address to Madame Marie Scheffer in Paris, handwritten message 'amitiés à Thérèse', green 10-centime stamp, cancellation 'DIXMONT 16/10/1909'.
