Description

Two border guards, one in a German uniform and the other in civilian clothes, standing at the French-German border in Schlucht, near a sign reading 'DEUTSCHES REICH'. Two 5 pfennig stamps from 'DEUTSCHES REICH' are affixed at the top right. On the reverse, a handwritten address sends the postcard to 'Monsieur et Mme Paul Daval' at Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, Haute-Savoie, France, with a postmark from Aitzenberg (Alsace) dated August 16, 1913.
