Description

Black and white scene showing two elephants on a riverbank, one with a mahout sitting on its back, the other with a mahout standing beside it. The printed text at the top indicates '234. COLOMBO — Elephants and Their Mahouts'. On the reverse, a French postcard with a green 5-centime stamp and a postmark from Marssetille-les-Terres (Bouches-du-Rhône) dated 12 May 1950, addressed to 'Madame Malabon, St Gabriel, suburb of Marseille'.
