Description

Postcard illustrating the elevated monument on the Roche de Murs in 1889, with a statue of a woman at the top and two bronze lions at the base. The printed text relates the event of July 26, 1793, when a detachment of 600 Vendéens was crushed by Republican troops. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated June 30, 1910, addressed to Martial Caquet in Limoges, with a 10-centime postage stamp and a postmark from Angers-Doutre.
