Description

Stone mausoleum in a church, decorated with bas-reliefs and Latin inscriptions, commemorating the emigrants shot at the Field of the Martyrs. Printed text at the bottom: '1624. - Near Auray. — The Charterhouse. Mausoleum of the Martyrs of Ouiberon. Containing the remains of the emigrants shot at the Field of the Martyrs. The Duchess of Angoulême laid the first stone in 1823'. Back: handwritten text dated August 12, 1942, addressed to a Madame, mentioning a package sent and regrets of absence.
