Black and white view of a winding river through a dense forest with massive trunks. Printed text at the bottom: '2389 SURROUNDINGS OF GÉRARDMER — PERLES DE LA VOLOGNE'. Reverse: handwritten letter to 'Dear Mother', mentioning a forest walk in search of mushrooms, and an invitation to leave for Martigues on August 15th. Postmark and postmark of Mulhouse-Dornach.
