Description

Monumental milestone erected in 1849 in Saint-André-d'Hébertot in memory of N. Vauquelin, a chemist born in 1763 and died in 1829, whose tomb is located in the cemetery surrounding the church. At the base of the column, it reads: « To the author of the discoveries of chrome and glucine, active promoter of rigorous chemical analysis. » Reverse: postcard sent to Mrs. Germaine Gérard, 23 rue du Gers, Roncq, with a 1904 stamp and a postmark from Pont-l'Évêque.
