The handwritten text says: « True friendship is the strength of life and the sweet consolation of the heart ». On the reverse, the correspondence section features handwritten text: « May the roses of life smile upon you without failure! To my dear little friend, Jeanne Maire », and the address is « che Mme Besson, 52, R. de l'Abbé Té, Paris ».
