Political caricature showing a soldier in uniform with a wheel-shaped hat, pointing toward a box labeled 'TRANSVAAL GOLD MINES', with printed text 'The Transvaal Question' and 'Where there is discomfort, there is no pleasure'. On the reverse, handwritten address to Madame Léonie Leocary in Boulogne-sur-Mer, 5 centimes postmark, Nancy cancellation on 19 May 1903.
