Description

Commemorative postcard of the Holy Year proclaimed by Pope Leo XIII in 1899, illustrated with a statue of the Virgin Mary holding a cross and a globe, with a view of the Vatican below. The reverse bears handwritten text addressed to 'Cher Portrand' in Paris, with a green 20-centime stamp and a Rome postmark dated May 3, 1900. The publisher is 'Cartolina Postale' (Postcard) by Ferronova, with a mention of 'Cartolina Postale (Postcard)' at the top.
