Description

Memorial to the Dead of Fleury-devant-Douaumont, erected in 1919, framed by symbolic bombs and crowned with a wreath. Printed text at the bottom of the front: 'Heroic Commune, disappeared stone by stone in the terrible storm and has earned titles to eternal recognition by the Fatherland (Excerpt from the Citation to the Army Order, July 9, 1919)'. Reverse mentions the artists: Rennaux, sculptor, L. Berthemy, architect.
