Description

A peasant from Haute-Loire, dressed in a dark dress and bonnet, spins hemp using a foot spindle, sitting on a stone bed. The reverse features a handwritten letter addressed to Marcel Jureau in Le Mans, a 10-centime postage stamp, and a cancellation from Saint-Étienne dated 24 May 1903.
