Description

Portrait of a woman in a sunshade hat decorated with feathers and lace, wearing a patterned dress, in a rural setting. Printed text on the front: 'The Sunshade Hat. A rich and original headdress, which the peasant women of the Cévennes used to wear.' Back: handwritten correspondence dated June 23, 1904, addressed to 'la petite' at La Jonchère, with a stamp and cancellation.
