Illustration of a Norman woman in traditional headwear, with the text « HATS OF THE PAST: COUTANCES — The City of Beautiful Steeple Towers — Guardian of Our Traditions ». Reverse: handwritten address to Mr. M. Abanquerete in Paris, postmark from the Casino de Coutainville dated 28 July 1908, and a 5-centime green postage stamp of the French Republic cancelled.
