Portrait of an elderly Breton peasant, dressed in traditional costumes adorned with embroidery and buttons, smoking a pipe in front of a cup and a bottle. The reverse features a handwritten correspondence addressed to Mr. Satler in Paris, with a note of 'Wishes for future mishaps' and a partially obliterated cancellation. Green 5-centime stamp of the French Republic, dated 1914.
