Woman in traditional Bresse costume, wearing a fringed bonnet and holding a closed umbrella, on a rural path bordered by trees. Reverse: handwritten correspondence text, 5c and 10c stamps, postmark from Pégay (Ain) dated 17 May 1917, addressed to Mrs. Thomas in Marteille (Bouches-du-Rhône).
