Interior of a richly decorated salon car, with a long table and posters proclaiming 'The Kaiser has abdicated' and 'Germany has surrendered, the Armistice is signed'. The reverse indicates that the scene is located in the clearing of Compiègne where the armistice was signed on November 11, 1918, with a postmark from Compiègne dated to this day.
