Description

Black and white view of a ruined underground shelter within a rocky landscape, with printed text at the top inviting to visit Metz and an exhibition. On the reverse, a multilingual inscription identifies the site as shelter No. 4.296 of the Fort de Douaumont, classified as a war relic, accompanied by handwritten text and an address in Dijon. Two French stamps (5c rose and 25c orange) are affixed at the top right, with a partial cancellation.
