View of the ruins of Fort Tavannes, bombed by the Germans on May 6, 1916, with a 430 mm shell causing significant damage. The reverse indicates exclusive ownership by the Douaumont Ossuary Committee and bears a circular stamp of the Douaumont Ossuary (Meuse).
