View of Fort Vaux, a ruined fortified bastion nestled in a rocky landscape, with two soldiers sitting near a table. On the reverse, printed text recalling its capture by the Germans on June 8-9, 1916, and its recapture on November 2, with a circular postmark from the Douaumont Ossuary (Meuse) and a property note.
