View of the E.M. building of Fort du Mont-Valérien, a two-level military structure with arcades on the ground floor and mullioned windows on the first floor. The reverse features a handwritten letter addressed to 'Dear Uncle and Aunt and Cousins' describing the view from the city, with a hill 500 meters away and an ascent of 200 meters.
