Description

Postcard illustrating an Aurignacian skeleton discovered during excavations in Solutré, with a stratigraphic cross-section showing the layer of horse bones and a flint arrowhead. The text states that the skeleton was extracted from the earth surrounding the collapsed skull under pressure, and that the cross-section was drawn by doctors Arcelin and Mayet.
