Description

Engraved portrait of Gabrielle d'Estrées, mistress of Henri IV, wearing a high-necked dress and a cross of the Legion of Honour. Printed text at the bottom describing her life: born in 1573, died in 1599, daughter of Antoine d'Estrées, married to César, Duke of Vendôme, and annulled her marriage. Reverse: postcard from the 'Curte Postule' series with space for correspondence and address, printed by Lévy Frères & Cie, Paris.
