View of the river Le Noir Gouffre in Gargilesse (Indre), with a village on a hill in the background. Printed text quoting G. Sand: « The pointed tops of some rustic church spires, from time to time, rise like lightning rods on the high plateau. » Reverse: handwritten correspondence dated July 9, 1912, addressed to Mr. Michel in Argenton, mentioning a visit to Gargilesse and an arrival in Argenton in the morning. Postmark and cancellation visible.
