Description

View of the Gorges du Fier with inscriptions carved into the rock walls indicating flood dates (October 1888, July 1879, January 1899, March 1895, April 1901, April 1895). On the reverse, a handwritten letter addressed to Madame Viensse in Villeranne, dated July 28, 1907, mentioning the arrival on an excursion and the impossibility of going further due to vertigo. Green 20-centime stamp canceled in Lovagny (Haute-Savoie).
