Engraved view of Pontefract Castle in Yorkshire, with inscription indicating its grant to Hildebert de Lascy by William the Conqueror and its restoration by Elizabeth I, destroyed in 1648. On the reverse, handwritten address to Monsieur Thé Potland in Paris, France, with a green 1d. stamp and cancellation.
