Description

View of the Saint-Michel Gate in Guérande, built by Jean V, Duke of Brittany, whose recently restored towers now serve as the town hall and prison. Above the gate, a large cartouche displays the silver heraldic shield with ermine spots supported by crowned lions. Reverse: postcard published by F. Chapeau, Nantes, with partially visible stamp and cancellation.
